"A tribute to the power of the flower.” Pedro Quintas always liked flowers and the effect they create in the ambiance of a house. When he received the invitation to collaborate with Vista Alegre in a piece of his choice, he immediately thought of creating a vase or a jar. His choice as “canvas” was the Pará vase from 1941 – a piece of porcelain of timeless elegance. For the design, he resorted to his technique of using letters as plastic elements that can both form words and work as abstractions. In his new creation, the artist deconstructs the phrase “Flower Power”, creating an abstract effect that allows the natural elegance of the lines of the vase to breathe. This reinvention of a part of Vista Alegre’s valuable heritage creates a new classic that is greater than the sum of its parts.
