ANDRÉ LETRIA

André Letria was born in Lisbon in 1973.
He attended the painting course at the Lisbon School of Fine Arts and began illustrating in 1992.
Since then, his illustrations have appeared on the pages of books and newspapers. He has also created theatre sets and produced animated films.
His books have been published in several countries, including the USA, Brazil, Spain and Italy.
In 2000, he won the National Illustration Award, and, in 2004, the Gulbenkian Grand Prix and the Award of Excellence for Illustration, awarded by the Society for News Design (USA).
In 2018, his book titled A Guerra (The War) won the Nami Concours (South Korea) and the Little Hakka prize (China).
In 2010, he created Pato Lógico, an independent publishing house, which publishes writers and illustrators he admires.
