PIÑEDA COVALIN

PIÑEDA COVALIN

Cristina Pineda and Ricardo Covalín founded Pineda Covalin in Mexico City in 1995. The brand is an icon of fashion and design with a unique market positioning, focused on the promotion and dissemination of Mexican culture both domestically and outside Mexico.
Inspired by pre-Columbian art, Pineda Covalin’s products (clothing, accessories or decorative collections) celebrate Mexico’s flamboyant cultural heritage and imagery through multiple color palettes, patterns and shapes, and their connection to Mexican ancestral traditions and culture.
Pineda Covalin’s association with several established and emerging contemporary Mexican artists, together with the brand’s collaboration with historian and anthropologists, have resulted in innovative collections and products. Through these, Mexican traditions from a distant past were saved from oblivion and reintroduced into the everyday life of a modern, globalized society.
In addition to becoming a communication bridge among the various countries of Latin America, Pineda Covalin and its products have expanded beyond borders. Today, the brand is present in hundreds of points of sale on five continents, as well as in internationally renowned institutions, such as the American Museum of Natural History, in New York, and the Musée d’Orsay and the Louvre, both in Paris.
