Vista Alegre

Eusébio

The genius, charisma and prestige of Eusébio da Silva Ferreira greatly transcended the field in which he became famous and the borders of the country where he played almost his entire career, Portugal. Eusébio, as he became universally known, was born in Lourenço Marques, now Maputo, on January 25th, 1942, and in 1960 he left Mozambique to join Sport Lisboa e Benfica. Admired by fans of all clubs, Eusébio collected awards throughout his career. In association with the Metropolitano de Lisboa (Lisbon Metropolitan) and Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Vista Alegre pays a deserved tribute to this incomparable football artist, through this piece decorated with a cartoon by António Antunes.
