Tasseography, the Chinese ritual of divination by reading tea leaves, was born in the 4th century, having spread throughout Europe eleven centuries later, although there are examples of its practice in ancient Greece. Being today much associated with gipsy fortune tellers, tasseography had a great impact on scottish and Irish cultures too, besides several countries in Eastern Europe.
