to 500 copies, pays tribute
to the profound humanism
of the Portuguese sculptor
and painter Martins
Correia. Rural women
were a recurring theme
in this artist’s work, and
he portrayed themwith
extraordinary power
and symbolism – with their
feet firmly on the ground,
theirs was the body that
carried the weight of the
world, and of dreams.

A 17ª peça do Projeto Artistas Contemporâneos, edição especial
numerada e limitada a 500 exemplares, presta homenagem ao profundo
humanismo do escultor e pintor português Martins Correia, que colocava
na representação da mulher do campo, tema recorrente na sua obra,
uma especial força e simbologia – a do corpo bem firme no chão
que carrega o peso do mundo e do sonho.
Roberto é umhomemde família.
E isso inclui o agregado, os amigos e os cães,
porque os afetos não escolhemsangue
nemespécie. Mas, quando não está a pintar
comdestreza absoluta emuita serenidade,
gosta de umbom filme de ação ou de ouvir
as suas bandas favoritas…de heavymetal.
Roberto is a familyman. But his family also i
ncludes his friends and his dogs, because his
affection is not limited to blood or kind. When
he’s not painting porcelainwith absolute dexterity
and uttermost serenity, he enjoys watching a good
actionmovie or listening to his favorite bands –
who happen to be heavymetal ones.
Roberto es un hombre de familia.
Y eso incluye el núcleo familiar, sus amigos y
sus perros, porque los afectos no eligen sangre
ni especie. Pero cuando no está pintando con
absoluta destreza ymucha serenidad, le gusta
ver una buena película de acción o escuchar
a sus grupos favoritos... de heavymetal.
